Saving money on your mobile phone service is much easier if you use a SIM only plan. If you own a Motorola phone that has finished its contract you may be able to use it on plans that are more flexible and much less expensive than your original contract was. This is because you have already paid for your phone and are only paying for coverage.
Not all phones are capable of using a Motorola mobile Sim card although most new model phones will be able to use a Motorola SIM.
If your phone can be used on a GSM network or a network that is more advanced than a GSM network it will usually be able to use a SIM card.
The trick is getting an unlocked phone that can be used on any network. A mobile network will often lock a phone by changing its operating system. This means that it can only register on that network. Other network chips will simply not work. You can purchase unlocked phones on line or you can choose to have an existing phone unlocked by a third party.
A sim only contract will normally be available as a 30 day contract or a 12 month sim. You will usually be able to get more in terms of talk time and, in some cases, internet access if you choose a longer term contract.
